Sugar Ray is hitting the road in support of its forthcoming album Music for Cougars. The first single from the album – “Boardwalk” – was released this week and now it’s time to talk summer tour.

First of all, it’s a long tour – starting July 24 at the Dakota Magic Casino in Hankinson, N.D., and wrapping up in San Diego at the Hard Rock on September 26.

In between the band plays a July 25 gig in Lac Du Flambeau, Wis., at the Taste of the Torches Resort. July 26 puts the band in Chicago for the Taste of Lincoln Avenue festival and July 29 lands them in Cleveland at the House of Blues.

August stops include Boston at the Paradise on the 4th; Atlanta at the Loft on the 12th; St. Petersburg at Jannus Landing on the 16th and Houston on the 22nd at House of Blues.

September shows include Seattle on the 11th at the Showbox; San Francisco on the 15th at Grand Ballroom; Tucson on the 22nd at Rialto Theatre and Las Vegas on the 25th at the House of Blues.

Other stops include Albany, NYC, DC, Orlando, Santa Cruz and Baltimore. As mentioned, this is a real road-trip kind of outing.
