AC/DC Heads Back Downunder

One of the most eagerly anticipated tours downunder must be AC/DC, which last played Australia 10 years ago. The dates start in late January as part of the band’s Black Ice world tour.

Promoters Garry Van Egmond and and Chugg Entertainment have them for two dates in New Zealand and five in Australia.

The council of Wellington, New Zealand, estimates that the 35,000-strong Jan. 30 show at Westpac Stadium will pump $10 million into the city’s economy.

AC/DC has invited singer Bon Scott’s 90-year-old mother Isabelle to be their guest at the March 6 Perth show at Subiaco Oval.

The band will also visit Scott’s statue in nearby Fremantle.
