Depeche Mode bowed out of the group’s scheduled concert in Athens, Greece, after lead singer Dave Gahan was rushed to an Athens hospital. Details are sketchy as no one from the Depeche Mode camp has commented on Gahan’s condition, although AFP reports he is being treated for “suspected gastroenteritis.”

Meanwhile, promoters are telling fans to hang on to their tickets, suggesting last night’s gig might take place tonight. Depeche Mode’s next scheduled date is tomorrow night in Istanbul, Turkey.

Details are also on the thin side regarding Fleetwood Mac’s Canada dates in Alberta. Blaming illness, the band postponed Tuesday’s scheduled concert at Calgary’s Pengrowth Saddledome and tonight’s gig in Edmonton. The Saddledome’s Web site advises ticket holders to hang on to their ducats for a rescheduled date.

Fleetwood Mac’s Edmonton stop, scheduled for tonight at Rexall Place, has also been postponed, according to the Edmonton Sun. The newspaper says a new date will be announced shortly. Fleetwood Mac’s next scheduled show is Friday, May 15 in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Then there’s Morrissey, who’s been a bit under the weather lately. He postponed Tuesday’s gig at London’s Royal Albert Hall and has nixed tonight’s stop at the Symphony Hall in Birmingham. According to published reports, doctors have ordered Moz to get some rest. At this time the next show on Morrissey’s schedule is Friday night’s engagement at the Britannia Pier in Great Yarmouth.
