Write The Night At Pitchfork Fest

Ever go to a concert and leave disappointed because the band didn’t play your favorite song? With this year’s edition of the Pitchfork Music Festival fans will get the chance to call the shots and give their input on select bands’ set lists.

The Pitchfork Fest takes place July 17-19 at Union Park in Chicago. The first night of the fest has been coined “Write the Night” and performances by Built to Spill, Tortoise, Yo La Tengo and The Jesus Lizard will be determined by attendees.

After purchasing your ticket you’ll be sent a confirmation email with a link to the polls where you can vote on the set list. Voting ends June 12.

The Flaming Lips recently announced that the band will also be taking requests for their July 19 set.

“The Lips are more than glad to be part of ‘Write the Night’, Lips frontman Wayne Coyne said, according to Pitchfork.com. “They will do their best to accommodate the wildest and most obscure of request– covers included.”

Fans that have already purchased tickets to the fest will be sent a voting link via email.

Here’s the lineup for July 18’s show: The National, Beirut, DOOM, Yeasayer, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Fucked Up, Plants and Animals, Matt and Kim, Lindstrøm, Wavves, Ponytail, Charles Hamilton, and Disappears.

In addition to the Flaming Lips, July 19 will feature Grizzly Bear, M83, The Walkmen, Pharoahe Monch, Blitzen Trapper, Frightened Rabbit, The Mae Shi, Black Lips, The Very Best, Mew, Vivian Girls, Japandroids, DJ Rupture, Women and Dianogah.

Three-day passes are sold out but you can still get your hands on single-day tickets for $35 each or a two-day Saturday and Sunday pass for $60.
