Illness And Other Problems

Fleetwood Mac, Counting Crows, Beyonce and Saliva changed their respective touring schedules this week, proving that no matter how hard you plan your tour, there’s always something planning to disrupt it.

In Fleetwood Mac’s case that “something” has been illness. The band, which postponed a couple of dates last week, had to nix last night’s Sacramento gig, according to The Sacramento Bee. Once again some nasty bug is alleged to be the culprit. The band’s next scheduled gig is tomorrow night in Oakland, Calif., at the Oracle Arena.

Illness is also credited for changes in the Counting Crows’ tour of the United Kingdom with the band postponing last night’s scheduled Bournemouth gig as well as tonight’s Nottingham performance. The band’s revised schedule now shows the group in Nottingham on May 29 and Bournemouth on May 30.

Reports out of the New England area indicate production problems have derailed the Beyonce’s planned July 22 engagement in Mansfield, Mass. According to The Providence Journal, Live Nation says the “size of the production” led to the postponement and the promoter hopes to announce a new Boston-area date soon.

And it appears Saliva’s summer run of U.S. military bases is no more. Details have yet to emerge, but the reason for the cancellation appears to be business oriented, and not due to illness or the size of the production. Band reps say they’ll issue new Saliva dates very soon. Such is life.
