Natalie Cole Undergoes Surgery

Natalie Cole underwent kidney transplant surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles May 19.

Cole’s doctors recommend the singer spend three to four months resting, thereby deep-sixing her summer tour plans.

The organ came from a deceased donor through regional organ procurement agency One Legacy, according to a representative. Cole had been undergoing three kidney dialysis treatments a week since September.

There were no rescheduled dates at press time.
