Mich. Shed Suffers Roof Damage

Officials at the Phoenix Plaza Amphitheatre in Pontiac, Mich., have postponed upcoming events after the tent roof was damaged during a thunderstorm.

The halt could affect upcoming graduation ceremonies, according to Pontiac’s Oakland Press.

The tent, covering the Pontiac Phoenix Center and the amphitheatre, which sits atop the center’s parking structure, was also damaged in 2005, 2006 and 2007, according to the paper.

Lawyers are reportedly consulting with the roof contractor to see how long it will take to repair the tent. A new roof was expected by Memorial Day, in time for grad ceremonies and summer concerts.

The 6,000-capacity shed has hosted Vans Warped Tour, Green Day, No Doubt and Cake, among its many events.
