A message on the venue’s Web site stated Winehouse was sorry for pulling out of the date.

“Amy Winehouse’s management has regretfully announced that Amy and her band will no longer be performing at the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire on Sunday 31st May. Amy would like to apologise to her fans who bought tickets for the shows.”

The message goes on to say the event, which was to celebrate Island Records’ 50th anniversary and included performances by Toots & The Maytals and I Blame Coco, has been canceled and ticket holders can receive refunds at point-of-purchase.

Although no official reason was given for the cancellation, London’s Daily Mirror reports Winehouse was taken to a hospital on the Caribbean island of St. Lucia last week after complaining of chest pains.

Earlier this month Winehouse performed at the St. Lucia Jazz Festival. However, the “Rehab” singer cut her set short, blaming poor weather conditions.
