Why Don’t We Google In The Road?
Of course, no one can blame McCartney for protecting his privacy. When you consider his former songwriting partner John Lennon was murdered by a deranged fan in 1980, it’s sometimes surprising Macca courts the public spotlight as much as he does.
But Google Street View is another matter. According to London’s Daily Mirror, Street View, which is composed of photographs taken at street level, displayed a 360-degree view of Macca’s mansion, causing him to ask for its removal.
Macca isn’t the only well-known personality to get a view removed from Google. During the Bush Administration then-Vice President Richard Cheney had the VP executive mansion – located at the U.S. Naval Observatory – removed from satellite photos used by Google Earth.
