More Springsteen Tix Trouble

The media  is picking up on secondary ticketing sites selling inventory to Bruce Springsteen’s show at Giants Stadium before tickets are even on sale.  The interest, although sudden, was reported by Pollstar in 2007.  Below is the report by the Associated Press:

Online Brokers Selling Springsteen Tix

Fans can already buy tickets for Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band concerts at Giants Stadium even though they technically don’t go on sale until Monday.

That’s because online brokers are selling seats at steep mark-ups based on speculation.

A spokesman for the state agency that operates the stadium says the Web sites won’t have tickets until after the sale starts.

New Jersey Attorney General Anne Milgram says she’s outraged by the practice.

Milgram’s office insisted that Ticketmaster and its subsidiary, TicketsNow.com, stop the practice when they signed an agreement in February after complaints over the sale of Springsteen tickets at Izod Center. But the agreement did not extend to other brokers or resale sites.

The attorney general says her investigation continues.
