Dave Matthews Band Lights Fuse
Although Fuse is promoting its Dave Matthews extravaganza as taking place during the first week of June, it actually kicks off on May 30 with a warm-up of sorts with “Weekend On the Rocks” showcasing the band’s four-night stand at Denver’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre in 2005 – a feature that’s sure to jog the memory banks of anyone who attended the mile-high concert. Set your personal scheduler and/or DVR for 2 p.m. Eastern.
On May 31 it’s “The Central Park Concert” which pretty much describes what you’ll see – the Dave Matthews Band playing New York City’s Central Park. This particular gem was recorded on September 24, 2003, in front of 120,000 fans on the Great Lawn of Central Park, so you might want to pull the ol’ TV out onto your front lawn when this one airs at 8 p.m. Eastern. You know, just to add a little atmosphere.
June 1 brings you “Fuse Presents Dave Matthews Band: Live From The Beacon Theatre.” Yes, that’s right. Live. As in watch it as it happens as the band plays an intimate set at New York’s famed Beacon. Not only is it airing in high-def but it’s also commercial free. Airtime is 9 p.m. Eastern. Need we say more?
Yeah, we do need to say more. On June 2 Fuse launches part one of its four-part DMB documentary called “The Road To Big Whiskey.” Along with plenty of music, the cameras go behind the scenes and capture Matthews and band members talking about their career, the hardship of losing a band member, making their eighth album and the significance of playing Madison Square Garden. Remember, this is a four-part series beginning on the second day of June with parts two, three and four airing June 3, 4 & 5 respectively. Airtime for each segment is 8 p.m. Eastern.
Fuse is also running half-hour segments featuring DMB videos June 2, 3 & 5. Called “Loaded: Dave Matthews Band,” the airtimes vary by day. You can catch “Loaded” on June 2 at 8:30 p.m., June 3 at 7 p.m. and June 5 at 8:30 p.m..
“Fuse is thrilled to dedicate 7-days of programming to Dave Matthews Band as they prepare to unveil their newest album,” said Fuse VP of music programming and talent relations, David Weier. “The live concert from the legendary Beacon Theatre and intimate documentary promises to show a side of the band that most fans haven’t seen.”
