Fleischmann Transfers His Affections

A month after leaving Germany entertainment company DEAG the same day as Johannes Wessels, Carlos Fleischmann had mixed feelings about the first big deal done by his new Creative Talent.

Having helped negotiate the estimated euro 30 million transfer of Brazilian soccer star Diego from Werder Bremen to Italian side Juventus, Fleischmann told Pollstar he’s a Werder Bremen supporter and is sad to see the player leave.

The deal was expected to be finalised May 27.

The fee was likely boosted by the goal Diego scored against Hamburg May 7 to take Bremen through to the May 20 UEFA Cup Final, which they lost to Ukrainian side Shaktar Donetsk.

Fleischmann – who now represents about 50 soccer players – started working with the Brazilian only a few weeks ago, after meeting him at Werder’s Weserstadion.

“I’ll be pleased to get back to promoting instead of sorting out my leaving DEAG and setting up my own back office,” he said, describing his 10 years with Peter Schwenkow’s company as “a really good time.”

Fleischmann and Wessels, who has moved his Music Pool after a little more than two years with DEAG, have both bought back the company shares they sold when joining Schwenkow’s Berlin-based group.

Fleischmann’s upcoming tours include The Bloodhound Gang, Dizzee Rascal, Millencolin, Santigold, The Streets, and Division Of Laura Lee.
