The BOSS Act

A New Jersey politician is proposing legislation that would impose stricter rules on online ticket sellers and resellers.

Rep. William Pascrell Jr.’s action comes less than a week after New Jersey’s attorney general sued several online ticket sellers for offering tickets to rocker Bruce Springsteen’s final shows at Giants Stadium before the tickets were available to the public Monday.

Pascrell’s legislation would require online ticket sellers to disclose how many tickets are available to the public and how many are being withheld. It also would prohibit brokers from buying tickets during the first 48 hours of the public sale.

The attorney general’s lawsuit claims some resellers sold tickets to seats that don’t exist in Giants Stadium.
