Chickenfoot’s Got Tour

The superstar ensemble pecks out a late summer run of theatres beginning Aug. 2 in Halifax.

They’re the people who have entertained you all these years – Joe Satriani, Red Hot Chili Peppers’ drummer Chad Smith and former Van Halenites Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony. The band makes their first TV appearance June 5 on “The Tonight Show With Conan O’Brien” – the same day their self-titled hits mass retail. We say “mass” because it’s already available for presale at Best Buy’s Web site.

The band will also do a free show at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on Aug. 15.

The summer blast starts Aug. 2 in Nova Scotia at Halifax’s Citadel Hill with the band playing a gig at the Canadian Forces Halifax Festival. From there it’s Toronto at The Sound Academy Aug. 4; Pittsburgh at Riverplex Amphitheatre Aug. 5 and Chicago’s Riviera Theatre Aug. 7.

Other stops include The Fillmore Detroit on Aug. 8; the Myth in Saint Paul Aug. 10; Kansas City’s Uptown Theatre Aug. 11; the Fifth-Third Ballpark in Comstock Park, Mich., Aug. 13; NYC’s Beacon Theatre Aug. 17; Boston’s BofA Pavilion August 24; and the Uptown Amphitheatre at The Music Factory in Charlotte, N.C., Aug. 27.

The last date on the schedule is Sept. 5 at Harvey’s Lake Tahoe Arena. Expect the band to announce more dates soon.
