Qld. Fests Turn Down The Booze

In new laws to be introduced July 1, Queensland festivals cannot serve high-alcohol beer or full wine bottles.

There must also be one security person for every 142 attendees.

Festival organizers protested, arguing that crowds would either booze up before they arrived, cutting into the bar revenue that the events needed to operate, or would turn to drugs to get their highs.
