Widespread Panic has played the Big Easy around Halloween several times since 1992. The Athens, Georgia, band took a break after 2002 and returned for a series of shows last year.

This year’s Voodoo takes place in New Orleans’ City Park October 30 through November 1. The festival will host more than 160 bands and artists playing in three distinct performance areas – Le Ritual, Le Flambeau and Le Carnival.

Although the festival has yet to release day-by-day details, organizers announced Panic’s appearance today. Expect details on the band’s Voodoo appearance as well as information about the entire lineup to be released later this month.

“We have discussed the idea of bringing these two New Orleans Halloween traditions together for years. It only took us 11 years to get it done,” Voodoo Experience founder and producer Stephen Rehage said. “Voodoo and Panic kind of grew up together in New Orleans, endured and returned from the storm, so it’s special for us to be working together with them.”

For a limited time Voodoo is offering three-day weekend tickets for $123 and LOA Lounge VIP passes for $326 for no additional fees. For more information, click here for the Voodoo Experience Web site.
