Ticket Transparency

TicketsNow is moving toward ticket transparency with the announcement that the company plans to inform consumers when tickets to a show are still available on the primary market.

Beginning with select dates on top summer tours, fans will now be provided with a link back to TicketNow’s parent site, Ticketmaster, when primary tickets are available for an event. The secondary site also plans to display face-value prices of tickets alongside resale market prices moving forward as part of an ongoing “fans up front” initiative.

“Since our acquisition by Ticketmaster last year, we’ve been working on our long-term strategy to evolve the resale ticket buying experience, based on what customers are telling us they would like to see,” TicketsNow president Shawn Freeman said in a statement. “As we get into the busy summer concert season, it’s an ideal time to launch this effort and provide fans with an enhanced experience and a new level of transparency.

“It is our sincere hope that others in the industry will follow our lead to reshape the resale ticketing industry into a more transparent experience for everyone.”
