JumboFail

High Definition has claimed another victim: Dallas officials’ efforts to save the Reunion Arena’s JumboTron and scoreboard came to an end when deals to sell them to overseas buyers fell apart over shipping costs.

“Unfortunately for most stadiums, when they have their JumboTrons installed, they become outdated immediately,” project manager Jim Rawson told the Dallas Morning News.

The screens were dismantled and recycled, and the Reunion Arena’s demolition should be completed by the end of October. The arena has seen its share of cheap sales lately, recently selling a 1993 Zamboni machine for $2,500.
