Gossip site TMZ first reported the story, saying Lane was arrested in San Fernando Valley and was released on $30,000 bail.

Born John Kennedy Oswald, the singer took up the “Jani Lane” handle while playing in a band called Plain Jane in the mid 1980s. He was asked to join Warrant in 1986. He left the band in 1992, returned in 1994 and exited again in 2004.

He was supposed to rejoin in 2008, but the band eventually moved forward with ex-Lynch Mob frontman Robert Mason instead.
