Pirates To Walk The Plank?

The four Pirate Bay operators convicted of running an illegal file-sharing site will have to wait for the Swedish Appeal court to decide if their trial was fair.

A couple of weeks ago, Stockholm’s district court rejected their lawyers’ claims that Tomas Norstrom, the trial judge, was biased in the original case because he’s a member of several groups that lobby for copyright holders’ rights.

The district court said Norstrom only joined the associations to stay up to date on copyright issues, and that alone isn’t evidence of bias.
It will likely be six months before it’s known if the Appeal Court agrees.
