Green Day Anti-Scalping Initiatives

The Frontier Touring Company announced two anti-scalper initiatives for Green Day’s six-date arena run in Australia Dec. 4-19.

Tickets go on sale July 1, but fans won’t physically get them until early November. This is because auction site rules stipulate that sellers must possess tickets before putting them up for resale, and provide them to the buyer within a month.

Another initiative is that 300 standing-section tickets will be available only at designated outlets, and limited to two tickets per customer.

Meanwhile, the City of Sydney council wants an explaination from Warner Music Australia over graffiti springing up around the city tagging Green Day’s new 21st Century Breakdown album.

Warner said it outsourced the campaign to a legal spray-painting company, which had the responsibility of seeking permission from council.
