The Denver Nuggets will play the Indiana Pacers in an exhibition game sanctioned by the National Basketball Association at the Taipei Arena Oct. 8, making it the first NBA game played in Taiwan.

The announcement was made by NBA China CEO Tim Chen, who added that the game was “the best gift” for Taiwanese fans who have supported professional basketball for many years.

Taipei will join Tokyo, Yokohama, Saitama City, Beijing, Guangzhou, Macau and Shanghai as Asian cities that have hosted NBA games.

A number of NBA-related activities will precede the game, including events for the NBA Cares program, which promotes social responsibility and community charity.

Tickets went on sale June 22 and will cost between US$24 and US$228. The Taipei Arena has 12,874 seats.
