Rochester Jazz Breaks Record

For the seventh year in a row, the Rochester International Jazz Festival in New York has broken its own attendance record.

The eighth annual jazz fest, held June 12-20 at several downtown Rochester venues, saw an attendance of roughly 133,000, according to organizers.

Last year’s festival drew 125,000.

The new record was achieved despite rain during the final performances of June 20. This year’s festival included Smokey Robinson, Michael McDonald and Dave Brubeck.

Venues included the Eastman Theatre, several street stages, a riverboat, churches, the Harrow East Ballroom and State ST. Bar & Grill.
