Krekel, Former Coral Reefer, Dies

Tim Krekel, 58, a songwriter guitarist based in Louisville, Ky., died from cancer June 24.

Krekel was a Coral Reefer, playing with Jimmy Buffett for a decade and played on Son of a Son of a Sailor.

He also performed with Bo Diddley, Eagles, Delbert McClinton and others, and had eight solo albums. Krekel also wrote tunes for acts like Crystal Gayle and Jason & The Scorchers.
