Bret Michaels Sustains Another Crash

This time around it wasn’t a piece of stage scenery from the Tony Awards that hit Bret Michaels, but a number of cars. The singer’s website reported the Poison frontman’s tour bus was involved in a multi-vehicle accident following Poison’s show in Toronto Saturday.

After performing at Toronto’s Molson Amphitheatre, Michaels was headed to St. Paul to perform at the “Taste of Minnesota” music festival along with his solo band.

“Police reports indicate a car lost control and slid into the side of Mr. Michaels’s tour bus causing a five car pile-up on the roadway,” according to the Rock of Love star’s website, BretMichaels.com.

Although all the vehicles involved in the crash sustained damage, no serious injuries were reported.

Michaels’ website noted that he and his immediate crew were “released from the scene following an investigation.”

During Poison’s performance at last month’s Tony Awards at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall, Michaels was hit in the head by a piece of the set, knocking him to the stage floor.

Tonys spokeswoman Christina Stejskal said Michaels “missed his mark.”

Michaels, who posted a picture on MySpace showing off his scratched, bloodied nose and busted lip, wrote in a statement on his website that after being blindsided by the prop, his “nose, mouth and the back of [his] head felt numb.”

“I vaguely remember asking Big John, ‘do I have any teeth left in my mouth?’ I knew I could move my arms and legs and that was an instant relief. Somebody handed me a towel to wipe the blood from my face and in my dazed state I recall staring at what seemed to be Shrek, a talking goat head and several monkey like creatures.”

He claimed he was never given a mark or informed that the stage piece was being lowered. Although the “Rock of Love” star wasn’t too pleased with Tony Award reps or host Neil Patrick Harris and his jokes at the singer’s expense, Michaels decided not to press charges.

Poison is set to perform tonight at Comcast Theatre in Hartford, Conn.
