Pieroni Happy With Monza Metal Fest

Andrea Pieroni’s much-traveled Gods Of Metal festival looks to have settled in Monza, Italy, and the Live chief says he’s happy with 30,000 people turning up over two days June 27-28.

The event began at Milan Forum in 1996 and stayed there for four years. In 2001, it moved to the Monza soccer field where it now resides, but only stayed a year and moved back to Milan to the Brianteo Stadium.

In 2003 it was back to Monza and Italy’s best-loved rock bash has stayed there ever since.

This year’s lineup included Slipknot, Dream Theater, Motley Crue, Heaven & Hell, Blind Guardian, Opeth, Queensryche and Tesla.
