Another Aerosmith Show Hits The Dust
Aerosmith’s Web site announced tonight’s show and Friday’s show in Tampa, Fla., were being rescheduled “due to an artist injury.” The artist in question is frontman Steven Tyler, who has reportedly pulled a leg muscle.
Guitarist Joe Perry tweeted that the Florida shows would be rescheduled in October. He added, “Sorry for the let down. Better Steven recovers fully than halfway n strains his leg again.”
The band previously canceled shows in Cincinnati; Hershey, Pa.; Virginia Beach, Va.; Raleigh, N.C.; Charlotte, N.C.
Tickets purchased for the canceled shows will be honored at the rescheduled date, according to the band’s Web site.
Aerosmith is next set to perform Wednesday at Aaron’s Amphitheatre At Lakewood in Atlanta. The band has North American dates on the books through September.
Country artist Mickey Gilley was also forced to cancel shows because of an injury. The singer-songwriter is recovering from surgery after falling backward off a three-foot step in Branson, Mo., July 5 and injuring his back.
“Gilley came through surgery successfully, and is expected to make a full recovery. [He] will soon be transferred to a Houston, TX medical facility for further treatment,” according to the singer’s Web site.
The site noted that Gilley’s scheduled performances have been canceled “pending his full recovery.”
