MJ Tribute Decision Soon

The promoter of Michael Jackson’s London tour says he will decide this week whether to hold a concert in London to mark the pop star’s birthday at the end of August.

AEG chief executive Randy Phillips said Tuesday that he is considering a show on Jackson’s birthday on Aug. 29 with his siblings.

He told the BBC 6 Music radio station that any tribute concert would be broadcast around the world.

He said he had talked to Kenny Ortega, the director of hit movie “High School Musical” who had also helped direct Jackson’s concerts. Phillips said he expects to make a decision about the concert this week.

Jackson, who died June 25, was due to have performed 50 concerts at London’s O2 arena that is owned by AEG.
