Wilson was arrested Sunday on charges of possession of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest, court records show. Authorities said they went to Wilson’s residence to check on the well-being of a 3-year-old and a 6-year-old. An officer told the Chattanoogan he smelled a “very strong odor” of burning marijuana but no one answered the door.

Wilson, known as Big GeeZee, owns Big GeeZee Productions and has his Million-Dollar Birthday Bash scheduled for tonight, and it’s still on. The bash features Houston-based rapper Slim Thug and Trina, with tickets going for $30, and a VIP package for $250.

Wilson struggled during his arrest, according to police and, according to cell phone video footage aired on WRCB-TV, while he was getting handcuffed did what promoters do best: reminded officers of his next show.

“I’m having a million-dollar birthday bash at the UTC mother-[expletive] Arena,” Big GeeZee can be heard saying. “I’m going to be at UTC mother [expletive] Arena July [expletive] 15th.”

Attorney Antonio Boston told WRCB that Wilson’s 45th birthday bash must go on.

“Not going to stop it,” Boston said. “Positive people backing him. He is a good guy.”

Police said Wilson had $5,531 in cash on him at the time of the arrest. The money “was separated in denominations consistent with drug dealers giving change,” an officer told the Chatanoogan.
