Farm Aid: Verizon Wireless Amph. St. Louis

Farm Aid, the longest-running benefit concert in the U.S., will be Oct. 4 at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in suburban St. Louis.

Farm Aid posted some details on its Web site Thursday, and was to provide additional information at a news conference later in the day.

Ticket pre-sales for Farm Aid members begin Friday with seats available to the general public on July 25.

Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp organized the first Farm Aid concert in 1985 to raise money for family farmers and draw attention to their plight.

Dave Matthews joined the Farm Aid Board of Directors in 2001.

Farm Aid has raised nearly $35 million to help keep family farmers on their land.
