Colbie Caillat’s Breakthrough Tour

After playing a month full of U.S. dates earlier this year, in addition to one-off shows in Portugal, Belgium, the Netherlands and Switzerland, singer-songwriter Colbie Caillat is jumping back on the road for a round of North American dates in support of her sophomore album, “Breakthrough.”

The Breakthrough Tour begins Sept. 17 at the House of Blues in Anaheim, Calif., and wraps up Oct. 23 at the Palladium Ballroom in Dallas.

Additional shows include stops at Showbox Sodo in Seattle (Sept. 23), Fillmore Auditorium in Denver (Oct. 3), Riviera Theater in Toronto (Oct. 10), Newport Music Hall in Columbus, Ohio (Oct. 13) and Roseland Ballroom in New York.

Breakthrough, Caillat’s follow-up to 2007’s Coco, is set for release Aug. 25. The album, which includes the single “Fallin’ For You,” features songs written by Caillat in addition to Rick Nowels, Jason Reeves, John Shanks and “American Idol” judge/songwriter Kara DiGuardi.

Caillat will be featured in an upcoming Archie Comics issue, Veronica #196. The story, named after the “Fallin’ For You” single, centers around girl next door Betty Cooper winning tickets to Caillat’s concert. Brunette beauty and heiress Veronica Lodge wants to attend the show, but Betty has already promised her extra ticket to the boy forever in the middle of their love triangle – Archie Andrews. Drama over who gets to see the singer perform is sure to ensue. The cover of the issue suggests a duet between Caillat and Archie’s band, The Archies.
