‘Doolittle’ Coming To U.S.
After announcing last month that the Pixies were performing the band’s classic 1989 release “Doolittle” in its entirety during an 11-date European run, U.S. fans will rejoice to learn the album tour is also coming to the states.
The tour celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Pixies’ second studio album, which includes hit singles such as “Here Comes Your Man” and “Monkey Gone to Heaven,” as well as acclaimed tracks such as “Debaser,” “Wave of Mutilation,” “Hey” and “La La Love You.”
The U.S. tour follows the European dates, kicking off Nov. 4 at The Palladium in Los Angeles and wrapping up Nov. 23 at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York.
Additional dates include two shows at the Fox Theater in Oakland, Calif. (Nov. 8-9), two show at the Paramount Theatre in Seattle (Nov. 12-13) and a gig at the Hult Center in Eugene, Ore. (Nov. 14). There’s also a date at The Fillmore in Denver (Nov. 16) and two shows at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago (Nov. 20-21).
Two gigs have also been added to the European shows, extending the tour to now begin Sept. 30 with a third night at Olympia Theatre in Dublin, Ireland and conclude Oct. 16 with a second show at the Zenith Paris in Paris.
The Euro tour is also hitting up Glasgow, U.K.; London; Frankfurt, Germany; Amsterdam, Netherlands and Brussels, Belgium.
Before heading on the road for the album tour, Black Francis, Kim Deal and the rest of the guys will perform Aug. 29 at The Virgin Festival in Burl’s Creek Park in Oro, Ontario.
