Plastic Fantastic For Conn Sun
The WNBA’s Connecticut Sun has cut some paper this year with a new ticketing system that issues a personal identification card to season ticket holders.
Sun GM Chris Sienko told USA Today the team will save $13,000 to $15,000 in printing costs this season using the credit card tickets.
The system also apparently allows the team to keep better track of purchases within the building using the card, which stores not only ticket data but loyalty discounts on its magnetic strip.
The WNBA team is one of several that now offer season ticket holders electronic cards that are swiped upon entry and can be used for shopping and concessions at the venue.
