Country Concert Crackdown

A recent country fest in Foxboro, Mass., featured Kenny Chesney and what some concertgoers have called overzealous police, who arrested hundreds of fans during a crackdown on underage drinking.

More than 114 concertgoers were charged with criminal offenses and 228 more were placed in protective custody during the New England Country Music Festival at Gillette Stadium Aug. 15, according to police reports.

Authorities apparently made the decision to ramp up security for the event after two young women died in a car crash following last year’s festival.
