Live Nation Cancels Buju Banton Shows

Live Nation canceled four Buju Banton shows after the Gay Liberation Network wrote an open letter to Michael Rapino, and the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center announced its opposition to AEG Live for promoting upcoming appearances of the controversial artist.

Gay activist groups have targeted Banton because of anti-gay lyrics.

“We are aware of the concerns that were brought to our attention this week with regards to Buju Banton’s October appearance,” an AEG spokesman told Pollstar. “We are reaching out to the artist, artist management and the L.A. Gay and Lesbian Center to satisfactorily resolve the issues that have been presented.”
