Live Nation, BET Join Forces

Live Nation and Black Entertainment Television are partnering to produce a series of club and theatre tours beginning with the “106 & Park” outing that launches Sept. 29 at the House of Blues in West Hollywood, Calif.

The “106 & Park” tour, named after BET’s prime-time cable variety show, will run through November and be co-headlined by R&B vocalist Trey Songz and urban star Mario.

Also along for the caravan are Day 26, Sean Garrett and RydazNRtist with stops in major markets such as New York City, Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, Chicago, Detroit, Baltimore, St. Louis and Washington, D.C., according to a statement from BET.

“We’re extremely excited about BET Live and the limitless opportunities this new venture presents,” said BET’s Martez Moore, senior VP of strategy of business development. “With Live Nation’s unparalleled expertise in live concerts and an unmatched network of venues, we will be able to offer our partners a wealth of expertise about the African-American and urban markets, and together will bring the best in live entertainment directly to our core audience and communities.”

Live Nation’s Michael Yerke added, “BET is a brand that is highly respected by artists and music fans alike and they wield considerable marketing power in major markets across the U.S.

“Together we hope to expand the roster of national tours playing Live Nation’s national network of clubs and theatres,” Yerke said.
