Rocking Hard In Malaysia

Hard Rock International and Hotel Properties Ltd. announced the opening of a new Hard Rock Hotel and Hard Rock Cafe in Penang, Malaysia.

It will be the third Hard Rock Hotel in Asia.

The hotel will be located on five acres of property situated along a stretch of beach on the northern coast of Penang, a popular Southeast Asian resort destination.

The renovated six-story hotel will offer 233 rooms and 17 suites, almost all of which have beach views. The top floor will include the area’s only hotel club floor, called the Kings Club. In addition, the hotel has the largest swimming pool in Penang, about 26,000 square feet, equipped with “sand islands” and cabanas.

The Hard Rock Cafe portion will offer the usual rock memorabilia collection that the brand is noted for.

Specialty items include a felt hat that Prince wore while recording “all the live tracks” for “Purple Rain,” custom-made leather pants worn by Vince Neil during Motley Crue’s Cruefest tour, and an outfit worn by Rob Zombie touring member Rob Nicholson for the 2005 Ozzfest tour.
