But Voegele has never been shy when it comes to placing the ol’ nose up against the grindstone. Along with her musical career and her role as Mia Catalano on CW’s “One Tree Hill,” the artist has been pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Psychology degree from University of Phoenix through the school’s online campus since 2008. In addition to her studies, Voegele is working with the school to promote higher education.

And if that wasn’t enough, she released a couple albums during the past two years – 2007’s Don’t Look Away and 2009’s A Fine Mess. Heck, we’re exhausted just reading about her accomplishments.

Voegele’s 30-city tour launches Oct. 7 in Cleveland at House of Blues. The next night she plays The Norva in Norfolk, Va., and Oct. 9 it’s Asbury Park and a gig at the Wonder Bar. Other cities on the routing include Boston, Albany, Washington, D.C., Memphis, Louisville, Austin, Bakersfield, Tucson, Reno, St. Louis, Des Moines and El Paso. Last date on the schedule is Nov. 15 in Chicago at Park West.

Voegele is also working with University of Phoenix to help K-12 public education by supporting The Council of the Great City Schools, an organization made up of 66 city school systems dedicated to high academic standards. During her upcoming tour, Voegele will encourage fans to text their support for K-12 education and/or pledge a commitment to life-long education. The University of Phoenix will donate $1 to The Council of Greater City Schools for each text sent until $50,000 is reached.
