Killers Settle Disputes

The Killers have made nice with the band’s former manager Braden Merrick over a breach-of-contract tussle, reaching a confidential settlement.

“The Killers are pleased that the matter has been resolved and thank Braden Merrick for his contributions,” a band representative said in a statement.

Merrick also expressed his “best wishes” for the band.

The multiyear legal entanglement, during which the band and Merrick sued and countersued, began when The Killers accused their former manager of “double-dealing” in representing the band after it hit the big time in 2004, secretly receiving pay from Island Def Jam Records.

Merrick countered in 2006, filing a $16 million breach-of-contract suit claiming the band fired him illegally.
