New Vampire Weekend Dates

After touring the East Coast, as well as Mexico, the U.K. and Europe earlier this year, Vampire Weekend is set to play eight California shows next month.

Before heading for California, the indie pop band plays Le National in Montreal tonight, Oct. 6, followed by Legendary Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto (Oct. 8), King’s College Student Union in London (Oct. 15) and Nouveau Casino in Paris (Oct. 22).

Vampire Weekend’s Golden State tour kicks off Nov. 2 at the Art Theatre of Long Beach and wraps up at VFW Hall in Lomita.

Additional shows include Pappy And Harriet’s Pioneertown Palace in Pioneertown (Nov. 5), Town Hall Theatre in Lafayette (Nov. 7), The Catalyst in Santa Cruz (Nov. 8), Cellar Door in Visalia (Nov. 9), Downtown Brewing Company in San Luis Obispo (Nov. 10) and Chencho’s in Bakersfield (Nov. 12).

The guys then play Unit Nightclub in Tokyo (Nov. 17) and Oxford Arts Factory in Sydney, Australia (Nov. 21).

Vampire Weekend is gearing up for the release of their sophomore album, Contra. The album, the follow-up to their self-titled 2008 debut, is set for release Jan. 12 on XL Recordings. Yesterday Vampire Weekend released the first track from Contra, titled “Horchata,” as a free download on the band’s Web site.
