‘Federici Fest’ Postponed

The Loudoun Summer Music Festival – aka the Danny Federici Festival in honor of the late E Street Band organist – is scratched until next year.

The festival scheduled Oct. 17 at the Belmont Country Club in Ashburn,Va., was originally scheduled Sept. 19 but moved to October because of rain.

But it took more than predicted precipitation to postpone festival plans. According to the Washington Business Journal, a shaky economy put the kibosh on the event.

The event, featuring Counting Crows members Adam Duritz and David Immerglück and former Blue Oyster Cult member Joe Bouchard playing their own songs as well as interpretations of Federici compositions and Springsteen tunes, was to benefit local charities through the Loudoun Foundation.
