Rather than having to hang around in airports, hotels or even the backs of vans, a band performance will be broadcast via 3D holographic images in 12 stores owned by consumer electronics retailer Media-Saturn Group.

Hologram technology allows 3D images of the four musicians to be projected onto a stage.

This “groundbreaking new technology” will have Tokio Hotel performing songs for its new Humanoid album in France, Spain, The Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Belgium.

The holographic tour climaxes with a real live performance in a new Saturn store near Paris Oct. 27.

“This is the perfect innovation, using new technology to bring the excitement of one of Europe ’s biggest bands to their fans in different countries,” said Universal Music Group International VP Max Hole.
