Williams Holiday Benefit Going To The Dogs
Because many of Williams performances are solo with the artist working his famed Echoplex Digital Pro looping unit, the shows featuring the Added Bonus are just that – shows where the one-man jam-band will be joined by musicians Claude Arthur on bass, Jay Starling on keyboards, dobro, guitar and lap steel guitar and Toby Fairchild on drums.
The first Williams / Added Bonus show is the SPCA benefit scheduled for his hometown of Fredericksburg, Va., at the Fredericksburg Field House Dec. 26. This is Williams’ 9th benefit for the SPCA with 100 percent of the show’s profits going to the animal anticruelty organization.
After the SPCA benefit Williams and Added Bonus embark on what is being called the first ever “Nocturnal Negative New Year’s Nomadic Notion Run” (brought to you by the letter “N”) and featuring stops at three venues whose names begin with the fourteenth letter of the alphabet. In Virginia that means Norfolk’s Norva Dec. 29 and Richmond’s National Dec. 30. The final “N” in the series goes to the Neighborhood Theatre in Charlotte, N.C., where Williams and Co. will play on New Year’s Eve.
But these aren’t Williams’ only shows as the artist is touring now through the first week of December. Tonight he’s at The Intersection in Grand Rapids, Mich.; Dec. 15 puts him at the City Opera House in Traverse City, Mich.; and Madison, Wis., is the city on Dec. 16 and the venue is the Barrymore Theatre.
Other stops include Chicago, Des Moines, Kansas City, Fargo, Iowa City, Anaheim, Seattle, Vancouver and Los Angeles.
