Garth To Vegas?

Something big is up with Garth Brooks. Something really, really big and all will be revealed today.

At least, that’s what Brooks’ Web site indicates, proclaiming “Something Exciting Is Coming…” followed by “Thursday, Oct. 15 – 1:00 p.m. Pacific/3:00 p.m. Central.”

The speculation is Brooks will announce at a press conference he’s coming out of retirement and become the resident headliner at a Vegas casino. Most blogs place it at Steve Wynn’s Encore, replacing the late Danny Gans at the Encore Theatre.

That would be a pretty small room for Garth, who, in one weekend in 2008, filled up the Staples Center five times. He is also known for low ticket prices, and a small room would require something different.

Then again, who exactly is going to take Celine’s place at the Colosseum? Or is Garth even announcing anything that involves Vegas? Is he even coming out of retirement at all?
