Guns N’ Roses Tour In The Works?

Guns N’ Roses is expected to make a major announcement early Monday morning – and rumor has it that it may be a Canadian tour. This would be the band’s first time playing North America in nearly three years.

Canadian concert promoters Gillett Entertainment Group (Groupe Spectacles Gillett) is currently hosting a countdown on the top of its Website with a banner that features a close-up picture of GNR frontman Alx Rose’s mouth as he shouts into a mic.

The banner reads “Êtes-vous prêt …Attention! Annoncer d’un spetacle majeur!” According to handy-dandy Google translate, that roughly translates from French to English as “Are you ready … Attention! Announce a major show.” According to the countdown ticker, the announcement will be made Monday, Oct. 19 at 7 a.m. EST.

GNR fan site Here Today … Gone To Hell notes that several Canadian Web sites are running the ad banner. Blabbermouth.com writes that the banner “suggests that some Canadian dates may be in the works for the GN’R band.”

Guns N’ Roses most recent performance was a July 2007 show in Osaka, Japan. The band is scheduled to head back to Japan for three shows in December, including Dec. 11 in Taipei, Dec. 16 in Osaka and Dec. 19 in Tokyo. GNR last played Canada in December 2006 with a show at Rexall Place in Edmonton, Alberta.

Will you be counting down the seconds until the announcement? Or are you not interested in seeing a GNR show with Axl Rose as the only original member?
