Steve Miller Promoter Pleads Not Guilty

Robert Alfred Green, an concert promoter accused of giving the Steve Miller Band a rubber check for $90,600 for a Nov. 2 gig in Caspar, Wyo., pleaded not guilty to the charge Oct. 27 in Natrona County District Court, according to the Star-Tribune.

The payment was for the band’s concert at the Caspar Events Center. Police accuse Green of wiring concert funds, including $56,000 from the venue, into his account but then transferring it to another account before the check cleared.

A trial date is set for Jan. 25. If convicted, Green faces up to 10 years in prison, the paper said.
