Manager Gary Rabin Dies
Gary Rabin, one-time manager of country singer Kasey Chambers and rock band Mondo Rock, died of a heart attack while shopping in New York Oct. 31.
Rabin, 57, was also involved with Australian hard rock bands The Angels and The Poor.
Mondo Rock leader Ross Wilson recalls, “He was very bright with a fantastic memory for details, a great deal maker … and a great deal breaker.”
Rabin was best man at Wilson’s wedding and godfather to his daughter.
Australian-based Rabin relocated to the U.S. in 2000, where he managed Rodney Crowell for a time.
He recently worked with major labels on new technologies and Internet strategies.
His funeral will be in Melbourne.
