Sun National Bank Center will unveil its new signage and the changeover should be complete in December.
Neither venue officials nor reps from Sun National would confirm details of the agreement. Sovereign’s 10-year, $2.7 million contract with venue owner Mercer County Improvement Authority was signed in 1999.
The deal included access to a 14-seat luxury suite, club seats and advertising on the 9,000-seat arena’s video scoreboard, according to the Times of Trenton. The new deal is similar to the Sovereign agreement, sources told the paper.
Sovereign Bank was acquired by the Spanish company Banco Santander last year for $4.3 billion and elected not to renew its naming rights option in March.
