Jet, Devendra Join Big Day Out

Aussie rock band Jet, hip-hop trio Hilltop Hoods, UK DJ Sasha, US troubadour Devendra Banhart and soulsters Passion Pit are among 20 acts to be added to the Big Day Out’s January run through Australia and New Zealand.

Protests from the gay community saw the festival’s promoters drop Jamaican dancehall performer Beenie Man on account of his songs about executing gay men.
