AEG Europe announced today that the film and stage star will play London’s O2 May 8.

Known for her starring roles on Broadway in “My Fair Lady’ and “Camelot” and films such as “Sound Of Music” and “Mary Poppins,” Andrews’ singing was silenced after a 1997 operation to remove non-cancerous throat modules damaged her four-octave voice.

But that doesn’t mean Andrews hasn’t been busy. In recent years she appeared in the films “The Princess Diaries” and its sequel ‘The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement,” and voiced the role of Queen Lilian in the animated “Shrek” movie series.

“To perform again in my homeland on the London stage will be a wonderful moment,” Andrews said in a statement. “It is where it all began for me, and I am so excited to be able to share a brand new work with the audience.”

Tickets go on sale Thursday. For more information, please click here for The O2 Web site.
